What’s On

People often worry that home-education will result in a lack of socialisation and whether there will be enough socialisation opportunities. In reality, nothing could be further from the truth. We are very fortunate in Northants that there is so much going on that it would be impossible to go to everything.

There are lots of regular meet-ups across the county and further afield. These are all organised by home-educating families so that their children have the opportunity of meeting friends and making new ones.There are also, adhoc outings and activities, such as visits to Boughton House, Fire Stations, Think Tank, Houses of Parliament, Leicester Space Centre, open farms…
Sometimes, we’ve even been known to go out without the children, for a “grown ups” social night.The only thing that people may discover is that they will be doing a lot more travelling both for one off trips and for regular events.

Often it is possible to use public transport. Sometimes, people car-share.
